Tonya Sweet

EVP, Chief Risk Officer

Tonya has been in the mortgage industry for 26 years. She started her career as a loan processor in 1991 at Waterfield Mortgage. She has a vast array of experience in the mortgage industry from processing, underwriting, managing various departments and being a high producing loan originator. In 2007, she joined Hallmark and within a few years became part of the Executive team. She is currently responsible for leadership, innovation, governance and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate and monitor the company’s operational and strategic risk; as well as strategically implement the company initiatives and corporate goals.

Tonya was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. She has four grown children, a set of twins (boy and a girl), her daughter lives in Nashville, Tennessee and her son in Denver Colorado. Her 3rd son is a freshman at Ball State University and her youngest is a senior in High School in Fort Wayne. She is in a leadership role in Hallmark’s team for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life due to the fact that she has had family members and close friends effected by this disease. She is also an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association.
